Belgium is a small country yet one of the most beautiful, with its historical buildings. The country has a Dutch/Flemish/French culture which makes it even more interesting to explore.

What does being an au pair in Belgium mean? You get to spend an amazing year as au pair with a host family taking care of the children and being part of a family you will soon call your own. In your year there are endless possibilities and ventures that may come your way, travelling to Antwerp, the Capital of Belgium to explore great architecture and festivities. The option of travelling the rest of Europe is very much a possibility and reality as well.

We have host families in both Dutch and French speaking families.



REQUIREMENTS

  • For Belgium our age limit is 18-25 years
  • You have to be single, have no children of your own and have no criminal record
  • Matric certificate
  • Have a genuine love for children and have some babysitting experience(no formal training is necessary as long as you love being around kids)
  • You must be able to ride a bicycle-it also helps if you can swim
  • A driver’s license is not necessary although it is an advantage if you have one

  • Pocket money-per month (depending on the EUR/ZAR exchange rate - 450 euro in Belgium, your working hours are 20-30 per week including evenings babysitting.
NOT INCLUDED IN OUR FEES ARE:
  • Application for your passport and you have to apply for your own police clearance at your local police station
  • After your match you are required to get some medical tests done due to your host country’s rules and regulations.
  • Your visa fee payable at the Belgium Consulate General
Program fees:
  • R350 Registration fee;
  • R750 Interview Fee-payable upon submission of application;
  • R2,000 first deposit payable upon confirmation of acceptance;
  • R2,900 Final Payment-payable upon placement with a host family

Additional costs: Good Faith Deposit: (R1500.00) this gets paid back to you after a successful year abroad. This payment is only due before you collect your visa from the consulate.
