Bianca's AuPairs….. After nearly 15 years in the Au Pair industry Bianca finally made her dream come true by opening the FIRST AU PAIR AGENCY on the Cape Flats… Having had a big corporate company and working for various similar agencies in the industry Bianca decided in January 2008 that it was time to make a bold move… In January 2008 – together with her assistant and ex au pair. Mariam Davids the new office opened in the Plain Building in the town centre of Mitchell's Plain. In November 2009 we moved back to the city of Cape Town and we now have a lovely office near the city centre. Bianca deals with the Au Pair Program to Holland and America – a huge bonus is that the airfare for the girls gets paid by the host families overseas and that for Holland a drivers license is not required.. In 2009 we added Belgium and Germany to our host countries. Bianca’s AuPair’s is a proud member of IAPA, International Au Pair Association (IAPA). IAPA is the global trade association for qualified au pair agencies and companies, actively engaged in the au pair industry, for further info www.iapa.org. BAP AUPAIRS will also be a member of the South African Au Pair Regulatory Association (SAAPRA), which will be launching in 2010. Hi my name is Bianca and I am 46 years old. I am originally from Holland and arrived in South Africa in 1990 – knowing immediately that after all my travels I had finally found “home”. At the age of 18 I started travelling as an Au Pair. I travelled for 6 long years all over the world – and was an Au Pair in Canada / America – Australia and Italy. For the past 15 years I have been involved in promoting the Au Pair industry in South Africa. I love working with and changing young people’s life. We have a wonderful team in Mitchell’s Plain and not many days go by without our returned girls popping in to speak and meet with new girls that will be travelling soon. Hi my name is Mariam Davids, I’m 24 years old and I’m the senior Au pair consultant at Bianca’s Au pairs. I was an au pair in America in 2007 where I looked after twins of 1 year old and a three year old boy. I lived Maryland which was 20 mintues away from Washington DC. Before my au pair year started I also worked with Bianca as her assistant at another agency so I gained a lot of experience about the au pair program. When I came back from America Bianca decided to open her own agency and I was part of that. It’s been over 1 ½ years now and we are going strong. In June 2009 I went on a training trip to Holland where I visited many of our au pairs in their host family’s homes and received extensive training with all three of our Dutch partner agencies. I love what I do and believe that making a change in young peoples lives is so much more then just a job for me….its become my life and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
